At present, many poker modalities use communal cards. These cards are placed on the table and should be face up to be seen by all players.
In some cases, they are placed face down and are revealed little by little in order to create a sort of uncertainty among gamblers who should anticipate the chances the new cards will provide.
The first version which began to include this modality was Texas holdem poker. We should remember that traditional poker does not involve any similar circumstance and instead, all cards which part of the game are dealt to each player. Only at the end of the hand, cards can be placed on the table so that the rest of players can see each of them.
